So... remember when I stamped a complete on The Requiem of Janus and said that was all that would be done on it, it was good to go?

Well, that was before I submitted it for publishing. And wow, I didn't realize it would require this much effort. Not that I plan on backing out since I"m utterly thrilled to be published and have someone with an actual opinion look at my work and point out its weaknesses.

Still, I've having to rewrite a good portion of the ending of The Requiem of Janus, and I find myself stumped on what to do. I have a vague idea for a few scenes that need to be changed, but otherwise, I'm facing writer's block of epic proportions. And here I promised to have the edits back by April (since the release date is in May) but I'm facing roadblock after roadblock.

My editor pointed out several plot holes which I must admit have to be fixed, such as the existence of the Goddess Tear and well, I also must admit that I have no idea what to do with it. As well as how to mold the new ending. I'm trying to focus on fixing the things I know to fix now, but I'm still in quite the quandary. It's frustrating.

Even more so that I can't really discuss this plot with any of my editing friends because none of them have read this story. So they can't help me reason out plots and ideas. Grah.

I do know that I somehow need to have the main characters end up together, but I don't know who should reach out their hand first. I would like it to be Alcaeus because that's how it was originally, but then the matter of how that occurs without invoking drivel and cliches is a matter of much consternation. I reluctantly admitted that a certain death must occur, but now the circumstances surrounding that death require me to retool another scene which requires more ideas that I can't seem to come up with.

And that darned Goddess Tear continues to taunt me with it's lack of ideas. Bollocks.

Back to the grind I go, then.
