Of News and Soggy Noses
Jun. 12th, 2010 10:54 pmThough I sincerely doubt any of you want to hear about my health problems.... lol. I don't think the fact that I have a severe sinus infection is of any interest to you... BUT it's the reason I'm stuck staring a blank document on my computer, unable to write the sexy extra scene from The Requiem of Janus that I wanted to write. It's hard to think sexy and erotic and hot when snot's dripping out your nose and your head feels like it's going to explode from the pressure -- despite all the drugs you've ingested to kill the symptoms. Yuck.
In other news, before I got struck down with the summer infection from hell, I managed to finish out the new smutty scene for The Finer Points of Thievery. The bonus chapter -- Lesson Four: Master All Five Senses -- is quite possibly the longest, kinkiest sex scene I have ever written. We have bondage. We have domination. We have toys. We have dirty talk. AND we have it all from Frost's POV. Yep, you heard that right. For the first time since War of the Animum's inception, we have some Frost POV chapters and not just a tiny commentary tidbit like we saw in "Amethyst". This is a whole chapter, and just the smut scene alone is a whopping 10 pages. Holy Aizen!
Now I've just got to connect the smut to actual plot and deal with the sweaty, sticky aftermath and I can call this rehash/remix/rewrite COMPLETE. After that, there's editing, editing, editing and it'll be good to go and ready for sale. In the meantime, I've been researching some places that I can use to distribute it (other than my site) and even investigating a few ways to turn it into a hard copy (Createspace tops the list at the moment since I already have an account through them.)
Pricewise... I'm thinking about $5.00 perhaps less if the page count isn't as high as I believe it to be.
More news! I finally got in touch with my cover artist for "Monster" so we can all look forward to that coming out pretty soon. That's a yay! Finally something for everyone to enjoy and not just limited to those interested in hot gay sex. It's so funny, because I have friends and family that don't know me as well all excited about my published book. And they're like "can I buy a copy?" And I just look at them and say "only if you've got a really open mind". Then again, I wouldn't be friends with them if they weren't semi-open-minded. As for family, well, my family is cracked anyway. So they've got no room to mock or complain. *laughs*
So that's what's new. I should be back later with some kind of story review. Or I'll probably get around to finishing my original fiction master list. That too. Since I can't focus on writing, I might as well use my time to do administrative work. Yay!
