Curse you RL! *shakes fist*
Hoo. I'm struggling. I'm clocking in at about 28,795 so far which means I'm barely keeping up with the daily demands. This'll be a close one this year. *wipes sweat from brow*
So here's another little snippet to whet your appetites. *hopefully*
Annnd more snippets to come as I do ferocious battle with real life to put words to this slowly drawing to a close story. Until next time!

Avery wanted to kiss him, but here on the sidewalk with strangers milling about, he couldn't. Or perhaps shouldn't.
Marcus nudged his shoulder again. “Thanks for inviting me.” He leaned closer, cologne an enticing scent in Avery's nostrils. “Call you later?”
Avery's tongue swept over his lips. “Sure.”
He waited.
“All right. Have a good night.” Marcus knocked their wrists together, a brush of skin against his skin, and then he turned on a heel.
Avery blinked.
He watched Marcus walk away, feeling as though he'd been slighted.
Avery frowned, confusion overtaking everything else. “What? That's it?” he blurted out, before he could think twice. “I had a good time now good night?”
Marcus paused and turned back toward him, lips inching toward a smile. “I didn't want to presume,” he said, paper bag crinkling in the breeze. “You're rather skittish.”
“Skittish!” Avery repeated, outraged. “I am not!”
Marcus chuckled, closing the distance between them. “Fine. You aren't.” His smile grew in volume. “Shall I be more direct then? My place or yours?”
Avery startled. “Um.” His thoughts darted around frantically. His place was further away probably but he feared what he might see at Marcus' apartment. What if it was covered in toys?
“Yours,” Avery said, ignoring the heat in his cheeks and the squirm in his belly. “Unless mine's closer.”
Marcus hooked a hand through his elbow, steering him down the sidewalk toward the nearest rail station. “A ten minute ride and we'll be home sweet home. If that's okay with you.”
Avery's bag of purchases bumped against his leg. “Looking forward to it.”
